I've noticed that there are signatures of varying size here on this board. Is there a forum status (such as level 2, level 3) that allows for a larger signature size?

I've noticed that some signatures are quite large and have been around for quite some time. They are in postings that moderators and K2/G1 have replied to, so they have obviously been seen, which leads me to believe they are permitted to be that size. However, I have been contacted by a moderator about mine when it was a tad larger than the allotted limit as per the policies of this community. Or is the size limitations in the rules simply a "preferred" size limitation and is not necessarily a concrete line? I can understand that as well given the format of the forum. Meaning, nobody likes to read a posting and have to scroll left or right yet having a taller signature would be acceptable since it causes no formatting alteration.

I realize that this may come out as an attack or bias to the mods and that is simply not the case. I am simply trying to find out if it is acceptable for me to create a signature which is a bit taller than what is presently allowed; seeing as I have seen others which are far greater in height than the rules say.
