Last weekend was one of the most nerve-wrecking, eventful and yet an exciting weekend for the entire Sword Team. The Sword servers were taken offline on the 27th of May 4:30 PM PDT for the initial plans of network upgrades. No one in the team had even dreamt of the events that would unfold as it did since then. Though the initial estimation of the downtime was 24 hours, half way through the maintenance we realized that even though we will meet the requirements of making the game-play smoother and would prepare the servers for the updates to come we were faced with a choice to make it even better. So last minute calls were made to make the IT team test their patience and limits.

The Mega Maintenance (as some of us in the team have started calling it) is THE longest maintenance ever run on a game that we have been hosting so far. It lasted for a whopping THREE AND A HALF days. The IT Teams out here were working straight 40+ hours before being able to catch some sleep on beanbags and similar was the condition down with our friends in Korea. We had Zombies for IT waking up and then again working till all systems were ironed out and connectivity resolve.

While the IT team was busy meeting their objectives, the Production team faced a challenge of keeping in touch with IMC and HBS during the weekend. The technical team from both IMC and HBS were very kind and were more than willing to stay back over the weekend and work along with our techies to complete the Mega Maintenance in record time (without which the maintenance would have lasted 2 more days, whew!)

The servers were finally brought online on the 1st of June 8 AM PDT and ever since then the network is being constantly tested, tweaked and monitored for stability issues.

The Cash Shop items have been rolled back to compensate for the downtime and players will be able to make full use of the Cash Shop items they purchased before the maintenance.

The Sword Team thanks all for the kind support and patience that the community has shown us. We really, really appreciate it!

?Server IP changes ?Changed all IP Addresses of all Production and Test Server machines

NOTE: Server time on Illier has been changed temporarily to PST (PDT)
